AWS Regions and Availability Zones
- In case of AWS, a region represents a geographical area.
- Each region has atleast two availability zones. Communication between the availability zones is free.
- The Edge locations are the ones that can’t host the actual servers but they can offer service such as DNS. You can have DNS at several parts of the world and offer fast DNS resolution from different AWS Edge data centers.
